Brown Butter Spaghetti

This was sooo good. And did I say easy. Lightly brown the butter ( I used part olive oil ), and add fresh garlic, basil and oregano. Finally, some parmesan cheese. #51018 I got home from church, was very hungary,needed something quick and had no spaghetti sauce or the necessaries to make my own. Anyway, you now have a bird's eye view of my day so far, church and Brown Butter Spaghetti... Yes Carol, I also served a tossed green salad and rolls.

Apricot Nectar Cake

I didn't have apricots so I garnished with fresh pineapple.

1 box lemon supreme cake mix
1/2 c sugar
3/4 c oil
1 cup apricot nectar
4 eggs (beat 1 at a time in cake)
bake 325
1 hour

1 c powder sugar
juice from 1/2 lemon
1/2 c apricot nectar
bring to boil
will thicken as it cools

pierce cake and drizzle

This cake smelled so good while baking, I can't wait to dive into it and see if it taste just as good....

Corey's birthday cake

Poor Joe Joe, looks like he doesn't have a friend in the world doesn't he? He misses the kids when they aren't here. Don't mind his shagginess! I know he needs a cut. Do yo see those couple of long black hairs that grow out of his ears?? I love em!

French Canadian Scones

This recipe came from a friend of mine on pogo. He is french canadian and lives in Canada. Bree really liked these..

1 pkg yeast
1/2 c warm water
1 tsp sugar
let proof

mix in 2 c flour
4 tbsp oil
don't knead
let rise
knead
rise again
roll into log cut at angle makes 1 doz.
fry in oil (deep fryer)

Update on Surgery

Laura got a text message from Christine that he is out of surgery and doing well. She will be able to see him in an hour.

Dennis's Surgery

Please remember Dennis in prayer today. His surgery is scheduled for 11am and will last 2 to 3 hours. I wish I could be there, I know he was nervous last night. Christine will be calling me later to let me know how he made out so I'll be sure to post when I hear from her.

Cousin

Most of our recipes come from "recipezaar" on the internet, it's a wonderful place to find just about anything you could ask for. As for the Frog salad, a friend of mine mentioned it to me and said she also found the recipe on recipezaar. It was way to much for my family though, next time I will have to cut it in half....If you think of anything you would like to make I can almost gaurantee you can find it there.......enjoy and start posting pictures of what you make for dinner even if it doesn't come from there. It is always a treat to see what the other is making.

Frog-Eye Salad

Chocolate Pudding

I made chocolate pudding tonight and forgot to serve it . Well, right after dinner I took Sara to karate. That's my excuse. Tomorrow we will have chilled chocolate. Nice.

Oh no!

My arch broke and fell! The grape vine is down! A pair of little brown wrens fluttering about! Their nest is in that arch ( a few years ago a woodpecker made a nice little entryway into this strange tree ). I hope their babies are ok. Last night we had quite a storm . Nickle sized hail. Well, Bob and I were going to have our breakfast in the garden. Of course, we changed plans.

FROG-EYED SALAD

A very refreshing and delightful summer salad that does take a while from start to finish but well worth it...I did add a bit of coconut to the top and the marshmallows aren't the colored ones. Way too much for just us, giving some to Shannon and then freezing some.....makes a ton. Would be great for family reunions, etc.....

Sorry, fuzzy picture.I managed to crank out Corey's pincushion. My computer crawls along at a snail's pace, but my sewing machine won't budge an inch! EEEEEEE!!!YAH!!! So many things I want to do .I'm going to mess with it again tonight. To take it to a shop, either I drive south an hour, yes HOUR, or, I take it to a very busy,busy,busy, sewy,sewy place.The busy, sewy place is probably very good , but not very tidy.Will they lose my little darling amongst the bolts of fabric and trims?Actually, my friend Karin thinks they grease somebody's palm, because there's fabric eevvveryywhere. Even across doors that have an exit sign above them.Some of the aisles are only as wide as a person.But they have been here as long as I have , and that's 33 years.Well Carol, if laughing is good for your health, I should be quite healthy this afternoon. I was so delighted to find that I could actually comment.Sara wants me to write a big LOL.So OLO, sorry, LOL.Blessings.

Well, it's all cleared and ready for me to fertilize, put down a border and add some real dirt.....Ron made a design...thought it was "cool"....

Dennis may need surgery

Christine drove Angela down last weekend for the basketball tournament because Dennis did "something" to his back last week lifting the lawnmower. He had an MRI and it shows a hierniated disc at the L3 L4 level. He didn't like the doctors in Elmira that he's been to so far so he has an appointment in Rochester next Wednesday. He says he wants to have surgery to fix it so I'm asking for prayers that all goes well.

The famous "Cunningham Back" has struck again. I feel bad for him, he's never had surgery, and IV or been in the hospital because of sickness. The only time he's been in the emergency room was when they had to sew his nose back on his face after the dog attacked him. He's always been so healthy - he's only had 1 cavity in his teeth his whole life. Poor kid doesn't know what pain is and he certainly doesn't know how to sit still. This is pretty hard on him because he can't work and he has to let everyone else do it. The 1st doctor he saw last week didn't even take him off work so he was still going and the 2nd doctor told him not to. He still goes and sits around giving advise on how to do his job.

This is Dennis........after picking up the front of the lawnmower and hurting his back, he fell straight down to his knees. He even heard the disc "pop." So, no one was home at the time and he laid there awhile.......after a few minutes he was able to get up and ...... no, he didn't go call 911, he started the lawnmower up and mowed the lawn! Then he went up and sat in an easy chair and waited for Christine to get home. She's an RN so I can see why he would do that. He doesn't realize that he can do more damage by anything he does right now. I talked to him for a long time yesterday and I hope he understands that now.

Coming back from Orlando

1 hour of driving in this, coming back from taking Bree to Orlando...lightning everywhere, yes, Teresa you would have loved it...providing you weren't driving in it...LOL She just called and there on there way to the airport....sure am going to miss her and of course, tears came streaming down my face when I left her...........
