Lemon Tree

Don did all the work in planting the tree this morning, he just took my picture with it. Not feeling to well, I'll probably just relax today.
Don is very proud of his lemon tree planting job.....I really wanted it out front but decided everyone would pick the fruit that I wouldn't have any left...( sorry, being selfish)....

Sneak Peek

Here's the babies I'm working on now. 3 are a set of triplets which I plan on listing all in one and the little one with the hair is a seperate preemie. I'm making the triplets bonnets and matching dresses. The 3rd set will be a very light green - the 2 hats you see are not really pink but a light coral.

Don's FIND

It's a wine rack but these people must have used it as a potting station. That's what Don brought it home for me to use it for. But I am not sure if I will be able to paint it. Ok what do you think? Is it a keeper or should I take it over to Shannon's on next trash day so the people that threw it out don't find out Don likes to "curb side" shop......

Homemade Manicotti

This so easy and so good, it's a must to try.........

Shells

2 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
water
fresh basil or other herb of choice

Beat eggs mix with 1/2 cup water add flour and salt. Add more water as needed to form a thin pancake batter consistency. Add herb. Heat a small amt. of olive oil in small frying pan, or spray it. Add about 1/4 cup of batter so it covers bottom, it's like making crepes. cook about 1 min. and flip. place shells on wax paper to cool.

Manicotti Filling

1 lg container ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup parsley
1 cup parmesan cheese
pepper to taste

Place a thin layer of marinara sauce on bottom of baking dish. Fill the shell with mixture by placing a few tablespoons int eh center. fold the two sides in to form the Manicotti. place folded side up in baking dish. continue single layers. Spoon more marinara sauce over the manicotti and top with parmesan and mozzarilla. Bake in oven at 350 until lightly browned on toop and bubbling....

ENJOY..............I had sausage to my sauce....

Lily and Tomato Plants

I just had to show you my lily again, I have 4 blooms on it now and it is amazing. I love the vibrant yellow.

Here is where I decided to plant my tomatoes, I think they work here, it also makes me feel surrounded with plant life and I love it. I have 2 yellow bells to plant but just not sure, they have a tendency to wander all over, .......LOL

Dr. Appt. for Aunt Connie

Good Morning Girls...

I need prayer @ 11:00 am our time....Aunt Connie has an appt. with the Dr. they want to put her on something that will relax her mind so that she will be at rest. I need wisdom to ask the necessary questions. But, also to be bold enough to not allow a medication that I'm not comfortable with for Aunt Connie. Medications she is currently on are all things she was already on or they were short term i.e., anti-inflamatory....arthritis flare ups.

The main problem and it has been an on going issue...is that her mind doesn't stop. And it causes her to get really worked up and when this happens it is very difficult to calm her. In her mind what she is thinking is very real, so it is difficult to reason with her. This is all bad for her heart and blood pressure.

They also believe she is suffering with mild depression. So, an anti-depressant is also in the discussion.

I will let you know this afternoon what the doctor says.

Found a tea I can drink

OK - LDC Paints and Painted Hair !!

I'm out on a limb here............What do you think of baby Kellen Brennan?

I used a totally different paint which doesn't need to be heat set and he

has no rooted hair - all painted. He is my first one using these other paints

and I cannot get my "usual" blotchy newborn skin. I tried every way I

could think of and it just couldn't make it happen.

Herb Garden

I still have some cleaning out to do, but atleast I got it done, if all goes as well as my parsley from last year I will plant more next year. I even added coffee grounds to the soil around each plant. This just makes me so happy. Can't wait to start on my veggie garden but not sure about that, since my back yard doesn't get the morning sun. Phyllis, Teresa mentioned that you looked up some veggie plants that could handle the shade. Which ones did you find, it would help me to know.

Spiritual Sunrise

This is real pretty, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bWThf7kK14

Not sure why this is down so far but anyway, I planted 4 herbs yesterday, and cleaned and pruned my parsley( rightside)..I sure hope my others do as well as the parsley.....later I am going to home depot to pick up top soil for my veggie garden...$1 a bag right now...can't beat it.

Aunt Connie's First Night....

I called Desert Rose this morning and staff said she did great! She slept all night (she had previously been getting up in the night) and she didn't realize that a change had been made...

oops...

She shares the dresser with her room mate....she gets the left side. But, the top drawer is the only one with anything in it. So, she still has plenty of space. The night stand has stuff in the top drawer and the rest are empty also. Her room mate opens the blinds and sliding door, fresh air, and plenty of light.... this is good. She wouldn't open hers.

Aunt Connie's New Room

Well, we had to move Aunt Connie to a room closer to the common area. She is now just off the diningroom and much more visable to staff. She now has a room mate. Tonight will be her first night. She is much too confused and unable to remember where her room was, can't remember the walker and they need to beable to keep a closer eye on her. As I was moving her things it occurred to me that this less space will be better for her...she had too many "empty" drawers...so she would fill them with her things...that should be out on shelves. She also has her new teeth. [she got out of the dentist chair and asked what he did, why was she there ; ( -but they look good and when she looks in the mirror, she's happy!]

Made My Own Washing Detergent

1 1/2 Cups Arm and Hammer Washing Soda

2 Cups 20 Mule Team Borax

1 1/3 bars Fels Napha Heavy Duty Laundry Soap

Makes 5 gals. and you use 1 1/2 Cups for each load.

Tide is just getting way too high priced these days so I thought I'd try this "recipe"

I hope my clothes get clean enough........I ordered these online at "Soaps Gone Buy"

but you can also find them at a ACE or Pathmark.

Got a Nasty Headcold

But, I did get to go to Bread Club last night and to breakfast this morning with Bob, before it kicked in. I don't think I had a cold all winter. But, I've got one now. So instead of going outside and hauling around dirt and leaves, I stayed inside and did some thinking and planning for the backyard. Alex got a little start on it. It was a chilly, gray day. I also got a good start on a jacket I'm going to make .

1st Rose Of The Season.....

I just noticed that my rose bush has started blooming this year...at the end of summer I had to cut it way back, but it has many buds ready to emerge......

((((SASSY WATER)))))

I made this last night, your suppose to let it sit over night in the fridge ( makes sense ), it's not bad, I can taste the cucumber and the lemon in it....the more I taste it the more I taste the mint in it also....I will try this for a week and see how it does....not bad....refreshing....

Saw this on Twitter, thought it was cute...

Why allow what "others say" affect me? What does HE say? It is God's opinion of me that counts, & He thinks I am special! (and I do, too)

Reminds me of a song by "Patti......???" can't remember her name right now but I use to play it for my children.....

Barbara's Birthday Today

A suit she liked. I still have this hanging inside a wardrobe door in my little room.

Her favorite rose...Tropicana. I think I'll be making a German Sweet Chocolate cake. Alex thinks that is a fine idea.

OK Guys ...

I've ordered the books..... I'm giving it a shot. I'm kinda excited. This gives me a little hope. I saw a woman at the grocery store the other night. Hadn't seen her in quite awhile. She looked a bit different.Mentioned that I was going to try the Flat Belly Diet. She looked at me and said "I'VE LOST 31 POUNDS ON THE FLAT BELLY DIET SINCE JANUARY." Sorry, she didn't yell, I just thought it was an exceptional sentence. I've found some recipes on the net to get started with.
