I've been working on the gourd bird houses over the last few weeks. Here a little there a little. Finally got them done and bought the hangers so maybe I can get them hung outside this week. I heard my little wren singing the other day so I know he's back and looking for a nice home.

Those are neat....How did you come up with that idea. I still need to find myself a birdhouse for outback. Been saying that for a couple years now and still can't find any that I like...those are cool....
I saw them on ebay....where else?? I think I get 99% of all my ideas from ebay!! Anyway, the gourds were "dried" so when I got them I had to drill the holes and clean out the inside stuff and seeds. Than I painted them....not very good either! Next I put a sealer for protection.
Don actually has a real gourd from his day's in a group. I should see if he'll let me cut a small hole in one and use it as a bird house..It's all nicely painted and ready to go...never thought about it before. Just another dust catcher to me since he doesn't throw anything out. Great idea.....
you did a really good job, teresa...not a real surprise! = )
Hey, we grow those our here in the desert you know! = )
