Orchid

I recently (re) potted ( if you can call it that ) one of my orchids from a wicker christmas basket into this vase that I had....Orchids don't really need soil, so this is doing fine....I can't wait to see if it is going to bloom for me this year....

Chicken Dish.....

This is so tender, I left out the mushrooms, ( didn't have them on hand...) but it turned out just fine. Waiting for my husband to come home to enjoy this meal I made for him...also made small fried red potatoes, along with a salad....

Garage Sale is Over...WHEW

My friend Cherie came over and kept me company while Brooks went to the Gym...It was fun, until the head of our Hospitality Committee came by and between her and Brooks I am now on it for our "Spring Fling"......I keep looking at Brooks and shaking my head.....I am tired now and just need a little "me" time so enjoy your day..I'll be taking a short nap....

My " muslin ". This is an old knit fabric. I made Annie a dress from it when she was a young teen. I need to make it a size smaller, as I had tried to give it some shrink room, and it didn't shrink. It doesn't look like it, but it is shaped a bit. It's noticeable when it's on. We could play a game to see who can find the most mistakes. That's the beauty of a muslin. Hopefully, the real thing will be minus these mistakes. I think this is the first muslin I've ever made. Never wanted to take the time, and all the extra work. But, I would like to get a good pattern going that fit decently and that I liked.

I've Got My Green Ballgown On...

I hope you have a grand Irish celebration. I would like to do something, but need to get Sara off to Dominican Republic. I'll fit something in. Whatever we do , 1. We must wear our green and 2. Don't wear any orange as Grammie would find that difficult. We know that for sure.

"Lite" Strawberry Angelfood Cheesecake Torte

This was so easy to make, I started out with a lite Angel food cake ( made by scratch), added fat free strawberry jello, with lite cool whip mixed with fat free cheesecake pudding......I can't wait for dessert tonight. Only 6 grams fat...

A weekly event at our house......

Brooks makes it a point to make sure his car has the best of " tender loving care" always, last night I had to make dinner around his time with his car....but I must admit it does look good....

2nd project

I had my parakeets in 2 smaller cages and Jake and I hauled this one up out of the cellar Saturday and cleaned it all up. It had been in my flood and was pretty dirty but it's all spiffed up now. I hope Chomper, Snow, Willow and Powder all like it better. They're still all getting used to everythhing. The nest box is just for looks.....these birds don't know how to mate!

1st New Project

I've been working on the gourd bird houses over the last few weeks. Here a little there a little. Finally got them done and bought the hangers so maybe I can get them hung outside this week. I heard my little wren singing the other day so I know he's back and looking for a nice home.

Just to let you know

I have been having a great deal of fun on facebook and getting reaquainted with old friends and enjoying keeping in touch with Jason and Sue. I am also "Twittering" wich I have finally begun to figure out. It's not like Facebook, so it makes it quite interesting. On both sites I get to keep up with Fox News and some of there little surprises behind the scenes. I have also decided to take a look at MySpace, the big hype for the kids, not so much interest there....so my name my be in there, I am not......
Today I will be outside doing "outsidie type stuff" and then Shannon and I are spending some time at Walmart.....my home away from home....

Precious Little Devin's Fight is Almost Over

Please pray with me today for Grandma, Mom & Dad and family that God will give them peace and understanding.

It's time they said to let him go

This child of ours we've come to know

They tried so hard to make him well

But all the while his stat's just fell

He had more tube's then ever before

His serious condition we could not ignore

We knew Devin's lifewould soon be over

Our only request was could we hold him

He laid in my arms so peaceful and at rest

We know in our heart's we did what was best

I look in his face and no longer see pain

I knew from that look that Jesus just came

With Loved ones around us

He passed through the light

For two years He made our live's bright

We'll see him again in heaven we know

But it's still very hard letting him go

It isn't easy saying

good-bye

I have come to the conclusion that Feb. 2008 was the birth of this blog! Yes, that would make it a year! lol
Excuse me while I pack my things to go move in with Aunt Connie.... = )
