The Makeover -

The upstairs is pretty much done. A few more bits and pieces and I can start downstairs......They installed the new carpet yesterday....oh, it is so nice not to have to look at the aqua colored carpet! I had to take a pic of the railing ... I took it down and sanded it than used a dark stain. I'm rather proud of how nice it turned out.

It all looks so nice, I bet that spilt paint was sorta worth it now with the new carpet put it...Did they paint the walls leading to up the stairs or did you do that????
The trim is a wonderful detail though it looks like it would have been hard to do. What's the next project in the house going to be???? I just love seeing how our houses get redone.....

I'm glad you like the touch of blue, I thought along with the bit of dk brown on the walls it would pull the colors from the curtains so the whole room would come together.
Oh trust me.....I did all the painting.....I first had to do some sanding where the dk br paint splashed on the woodwork and still have to do a second coat there but it turned out ok. Gee, how long did it take me? 3 weeks? I did just a bit everyday taking a lot of rests. I originally planned on painting the whole upstairs, living room and computer room allowing myself 1 month to do it. Well, that plan has gotten thrown out the window. I've had to make time to do a little dolly work so it'll take me even longer.
Today I am starting my computer room. Hopefully I will be able to get the ceiling painted and around the walls so tomorrow I can just roll the paint onto the walls and be finished with this. I orderd a Cherry pergo for the floors down here and I hate it. What was I thinking?? I have to send it back to the store and pick out something different. They delivered the cherry when they installed the carpet and when I saw it here I knew it wouldn't go with my furniture. I should have just grabbed 1 board when I was at the store deciding which color to get so I could see how it would look at home....
So, I'm gonna get going and start this room.....

I agree with Carol, the stairway looks fantastic. It looks so coordinated, fresh and clean. Where was the aqua carpet? Is that new carpeting in the bedrooms? Sorry if you've already told me about this. Woohoo- you stripped and stained your railing. What a difference it makes.Well, I must say it again... you are incredible. All that work and a beautiful Jayden baby too. Did you have to tape all that trim? Mamamia... Your bedroom looks great. It makes such a difference to wake up in the morning in a bedroom you love.
