spending the night with clara

Only once was I to spend the night at our grandmothers, it was the night of my other grandmothers funeral and Grandma Clara wasn't to keen on driving home alone. It was not a night to forget. It started with pulling into her driveway. The man next door was ablivious to the fact that our grandmother was cursing him in not a low voice. To this day I still dont know what the problem was but I bet she might have had a crush on him.......(: I was quickly being introduced to music being played on my mothers stereo that our grandmother kept for "good reasons". That music was none other than Polka and the song, well not sure about the name of it but it went something like this, "Do your boobs hang low, do they waddle to and fro, can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier"....and so on and so on. As funny as that my seem, I believe I am scarred for life because of that song....we slept in the same bed, as I lay falling asleep she starting worrying about breakfast and what to make, she jump out of bed to get the bacon out of the freezer since she knew thats what I wanted. I really dont remember the rest of it, the next day a blur. But it was a night in my life that I love to live over and over. What a wonderful grandmother she was.............

Ha HA Ha.....We KNOW that song!! "Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie em' in a knot, can you tie em in a bow...?" And now...we all have the tune stuck in our heads! And Kristy-lynn said there is a "gang version"..."do your chains hang long....."! = )

Anyway, I have memories like that of times that I stayed with my Grandma Butts...yea, Butts! That was my Grandma (ann, your Uncle James' wife) Wright's mom. Well, I have lots of memories of staying with all my grandparents...I was the favorite...unfortunately for my sisters!! = ( But, some how the memories of staying with Grandma Butts are a little different.
Grandma and Grandpa Wright lived close to my school, so I could staay with them even on school nights. And a good friend of mine lived across the street from Gram & Gramp.
