Fingerless gloves for Caden
My morning walk with Joe Joe
The Frost is on the Pumpkins! Here are a few pictures of my frosty morning. The tree in my neighbor's yard, the driveway down to my neighbor's house in back where you can see at the end a clearing with heavy frost covering everything, across the street the chimney on the frosty rooftop with proof that the family inside is warm and toasty, and finally, the leaves in my yard covered with frost.

Nina
The Shakers used to make dolls like this. She just seemed like a pleasant side excursion. Sorry Florence. The brown fleece is actually a much warmer brown. My computer color may not be very good. I need to make a new pattern, she's 2 " shorter than what she should be. Well, sorrryy. She likes being 8".

Anya
Autumn's Christmas present ... This was a learn as you go dolly.I'd like to make another, neater and nicer , but will probably go with this one. A couple of tools would make it easier going. I will be purchasing a pair of embroidery scissors and a hole punch to make Mary's and Mikey's fleecies. Florence and Pedro coming soon (I hope).

It's over -
I'm home again - it really wasn't any fun at all. I had to have an IV and it didn't go in the first time so she had to try my hand which hurts worse than in the arm. The Iodine dye made me feel really weird and now I feel as if every last speck of energy has been sucked out of me. I'm going to try to relax this afternoon. I'm glad it over and I'm back home & comfy.
The Test Today @ 11am
Well, today I have an appointment for a CAT scan at 11 am and I got up this morning @ 5:30 so I could take my medicine in time for the "food cutoff hour." I have to take the one pill 1 hour before I eat breakfast and I have to stop all intake except clear liquids at 7am. I am concerned that I won't be able to keep the Barium down. I've never had it before and I've heard it's like drinking chalk......it says on the label that it's a berry smoothie.....yum!
I know I shouldn't be concerned about this test and it's results but ya know, I am. Would you please think of me at 10 - 11 am and say a little prayer that all goes well? Everyone says that enzyme levels in the liver are nothing to worry about....but it can mean there's something seriously wrong too.
Hopefully when I get the test results we'll be able to celebrate good news.

I have a "Special Sister" in Burlington WA
I recently joined in on a "Special Sister for a Year" thing in an online group I belong to. The leader person takes names and email addresses from girls who want to join in the fun and matches them up and sends the two special sisters each others email addresses. Than the 2 special sisters send each other information about themselves. You are suppose to send each other little gifts throughout the year (2 is the minimum). I received a package the other day with the cutest Pumpkin Bib and this gorgeous Pinafore!
Meet Josephine Ciura -
I received an email from a lady the other day inquiring about a baby to adopt. She stated that it wasn't for her but for a friend. I sent some info and had her go to my website. The next day I get an email from her again explaining that her friend couldn't come to her house to see my work on the pc and was there some other way for her to see my babies. I then sent her my phone no. for this "friend" to call me directly so we could discuss what she is interested in.
It was the night of the debate between McCzin and Obama, 10:45 and I'm half listening to the tv after the debate and half getting ready to go to bed and my phone rings!! Now mind you, my brain went to sleep right after the debate! I answer and this sweet little voice so excited and full of life says "Hello, this is Josephine Ciura and I saw you on TV with your babies! I want one!" Hearing this voice you automatically KNOW this lady is about 6 months close to being 100 years old. Now I ask you, what would you all say to her at this point????
I did the only thing I could possible do without popping her bubble, I IGNORED her comment about seeing me on the tv! She sent me a check for her baby and it's down to the Post Office already waiting for me to pick it up as it requires a signature. I wish I could share with you her voice, she is just so happy! I'm a softie and only charged her $175 with shipping to Chicago free. She finally told me that she's 82 yrs old. And I instantly fell in love with her! Of course, her thinking I was on the TV and treats me like a movie star has nothing to do with it!!
So, I have her baby started and will post pictures when she's done.
Oh, her friend went to my website and printed out ALL the pictures of ALL my babies and took them to her so she could see my work. Wow, does she really want a baby or not? She told me in that first late nite chat ( yea, it was a loooong one) that she has always collected dolls and has since given them all away. She said she used to sew for them and make them fur coats and muffs. How cute!

I got an email from my Gavin (the Harvey baby)
He flew to Switzerland! Here is the email I got today -
Hi mummy, Gavin is writing you! I arrived yesterday in my new home, my trip with the aeroplane was ok, but when I will fly again, I wish a place near the window.......A women took me out of the box, she was soooo happy when she took me in her arms - she told me that I am a really nice boy, and she asked me, if I like chocolate so much like she loves chocolate. Why she knows that I love chocolate???? I had a good first night in my new bed, my new mummy gave me a stuffed animal and a soft and warm blanket......I think she really loves me! I feel good in my new home, but I will never forget my first mummy....I send you many kisses
Your Gavin
Isn't that the cutest???

Caden and Emma's Pumpkin Shirts
I bought some t-shirts for Caden and planned on dyeing it orange after putting rubber bands all over it so it makes white circles when done. I than draw pumpkin faces on the circles. I thought he'd like getting a package in the mail. Anyway, I took one look at Emma this morning and of course she wanted one too. Well, she fell asleep this afternoon so I did what I could on Caden's and I'm hoping Emma won't remember her's when her Dad comes to pick her up and we'll just wait until Monday to do hers.
Knock your socks off!!! That IS AMAZING!!
There really are no words for that except...WOW!! $500 for a baby doll!! That's incredible!! She DOES look so very real though!!! Congratulations Cous!!

Rosemary, Mums & Mary's Wee Blanket
My rosemary is about 3' high. Love these cheery mums.
She liked the hearts. Started out with the hearts , but it was very slooow going, so I switched to feather stitch. But I did sprinkle hearts along each side. She came up with a good idea, "Gramma, you could mail it to me." So that is what we will be doing.
Soft & cozy. Sooo cozy. The green satin binding is soft too. Love it! BTW, this started out as a yard of fabric that I got for Autumn. As we were walking thru the bolts of fabric at JoAnns on Saturday, she pointed to the rosey stuff. It was not in the fleece section ,but looked similar and she loved it. I placed the whole bolt in the cart across the top of the seat. Oh my , she was like a kitty in catmint. Vigorously rubbing her face back and forth, again and again. Then her hands joined in. OK, this is our choice... It was so wide that I cut it in half so that Mary could have one also. Well, one soft shake of this wonder blanket and I decided to hem the edges. Otherwise you created a minor blizzard. I quickly hemmed Autumn's and Mary decided to leave her's here to be hemmed. I asked if she would like a ribbon around it. She said yes. I didn't think she would know what binding was and they were leaving , so no time to explain. A fairly quick & fun project. Liz has two quilt squares finished. She loves it.
