Another silly plus Pt. Pleasant Beach

Annie exclaimimg over Mike's homemade truffles (they were very good). Actually the ocean is beyond all the hoopla.

Annie being silly

She says she has time now to show her silly side.

Half Moon Cake

I made a half moon cake, bottom is choc. the top vanilla......yea

Oh and have I got a story for u.....the applesauce caper......I was right that someone had to have been angry....BROOKS....however it was BREE that cleaned it up. Brooks took the credit for it this morning and explained that he was upset and threw it in the fridge, one fell out and hit his foot and he tossed that one in as well....MMMmmm....I even told Don it looks like someone threw it in a fit of anger...No Carol....no one would do that....Brooks doesn't usually do stuff like that but he had a bad day and had to get to work. All is forgiven but Bree had a good laugh when I mentioned that Brooks cleaned it up.....MY kids, what can I say....

The "Greats"

Mikey, Mary, Autumn and Angel -Memorial Day

A blessing for me today

Morning ...
References:-->Psalm 55:22Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee.
Care, even though exercised upon legitimate objects, if carried to excess, has in it the nature of sin. The precept to avoid anxious care is earnestly inculcated by our Saviour, again and again; it is reiterated by the apostles; and it is one which cannot be neglected without involving transgression: for the very essence of anxious care is the imagining that we are wiser than God, and the thrusting ourselves into His place to do for Him that which He has undertaken to do for us. We attempt to think of that which we fancy He will forget; we labour to take upon ourselves our weary burden, as if He were unable or unwilling to take it for us. Now this disobedience to His plain precept, this unbelief in His Word, this presumption in intruding upon His province, is all sinful. Yet more than this, anxious care often leads to acts of sin. He who cannot calmly leave his affairs in God's hand, but will carry his own burden, is very likely to be tempted to use wrong means to help himself. This sin leads to a forsaking of God as our counsellor, and resorting instead to human wisdom. This is going to the "broken cistern" instead of to the "fountain;" a sin which was laid against Israel of old. Anxiety makes us doubt God's lovingkindness, and thus our love to Him grows cold; we feel mistrust, and thus grieve the Spirit of God, so that our prayers become hindered, our consistent example marred, and our life one of self-seeking. Thus want of confidence in God leads us to wander far from Him; but if through simple faith in His promise, we cast each burden as it comes upon Him, and are "careful for nothing" because He undertakes to care for us, it will keep us close to Him, and strengthen us against much temptation. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee."

Purse

A friend of mine from S.C. sent me this saturday. I wasn't sure what to do with it....it's a Vera Bradley.....but as you can see I have found a little something to put it to good use. It's not big but it holds enough yarn for what I am working on at the time.......(:

GOOD MORNING GIRLS

Brooks left for Georgia last night, left his car for us to use.....yeah.(: Bree goes to work this morning than is off to her friends private beach over near St. Pete's for the weekend. I have Aundi tonight and after Shannon's 4 phone calls last night I am pretty nervous. She is bound and determined to finally break this child of his behavior problems......She thought for sure she would have the police at her door. He screams like he's being tortured when in fact she just wanted him to go to bed in his own bed at 8 pm......):
Donald has Sunday off and we're going "Zellwood". The corn festival. We're just going to pick up some corn. We missed it last year. The best corn on the cob you've ever tasted.......Mmmmmm good.
Everyone have a wonderful day, Happy memorial Weekend.............

.99 cents

I love the pattern on this sham. It was so worth the money I spent (: I am just having soooooo much fun at the thrift stores.

"Sunny"

I shall refer to Little Miss Sunshine as "Sunny". I have been calling her "the Bonnie Chyle doll". I like "Sunny" better. Well, you see, I have accomplished something today. I also have my chicken out of the freezer. Will be making Parmesan Chicken today. Took a nice early morning stroll around my backyard. Figured I could easily spend all day out there getting that in shape, and promptly tuned and went inside. Maybe tomorrow, but not all day.

Sunshine dolly

Here she is with better lighting. The poor thing doesn't have a name. This is how she landed when Jonathan was taking out the carpet. Before that, she had almost made it over that top bar. Today I need to get every thing out of there that doesn't belong in that room. Of course, that means finding a place for it somewhere else. Then when Jonathan is ready to put the flooring down, I need to get all the smallish stuff out. Will was here yesterday. Took home a riding mower.Goody, goody. That took up a bit of space . Bit by bit. Have a nice day, I'll be praying for you.

Little mossy

Very few people on the shore today, 90 degree's out.

He's about a little less then a foot long....and quite SHY as you can see. If he thinks he's being sneaky by blending in he has another thing coming........

Floor out

Everything is all a big , fat mess! But, the old carpeting is gone! This is my little room. What next???

Don's days off

Don is off to the beach, I will post pictures later if he takes some good ones.......me, well, I'm cleaning, taking care of the dog, laundry, dinner, etc..........(: I told him to soak up some good spiritual knowledge while he's there. Yesterday he golfed, did him some good cept he fell asleep right after dinner. Had a nice 12 hour sleep...........he really did need it.....
I certainly hope this is doing him some good.......
Oh I was out making sure the sprinkler system is working, they did an awesome job yesterday fixing it, and I have this HUGE turtle in my front yard, actually he's gone into the flower bed area....I am thinking of getting it and taking it over to the lake where it belongs. Picking it up will be the tough part.
Every one have a great day.............................................

Can you see how it matches the flowers behind the couch and the picture above......I couldn't do that again if I tried...... ( not the matching ) making it into a pillow and having it come out right....tee hee

From rug to pillow in minutes

It was not large enough for where I wanted it, didn't want to play any longer, this worked out very nice......(: I found a zippered pillow case for the stuffing and WHA-AL........a pillow. Goes nicely in the livingroom........

Little Lindsay has a new heart

She went home to Jesus at 1:00 pm today.

Check this out

http://www.demographicwinter.com/index.html
Looking at the picture of the grandma swinging in her apron and slippers.....I thought......I NEVER saw gramma in slippers, dont know if she even owned a pair, I assume she did. She was always dressed so nice, even when the whole rage was these big "elephant pants" and she wore them.......tee hee

Granny's Apron

Aprons

I afraid our children don't know what an apron is--especially the many uses of it from days gone by:The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath, but along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.

It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.

From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.

When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids. And when the weather was cold, grandma wrapped it around her arms. Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove.

Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron. From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.

In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees. When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds. When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner

It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that "old-time apron" that served so many purposes.

I don't remember Grannie Cope without an apron much--except for church. I sure do miss her and the good old "apron days".

REMEMBER: Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool. Her grand and great granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw. They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs was on that apron--some germs are just good. I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron but lots of love...

CONNIE, THE GAME IS ON DOWN @THE BOTTOM......(:

This is the best picture I could get of it, I have to make it much bigger....I suppose I should have judged the area better......LOL I refuse to work with the varigated yarn anylonger so I will use the pinkish color and had all around it.......OH Well someday I will learn.......

Just a Note

I know I haven't posted in a bit, lot's of "stuff" going on......I am almost, ALMOST, done with my rug. Pulling the yarn thru was rough going, now I am just putting a boarder around it to pull it all together the way I want it. I will post a finished product this afternoon........I have been trying to keep my lawn hydrated as much as possible but the green is still going to brown even where I had plugs put in. I thru away my tomato plant even though it was yielding tomatoes. Don didn't like them so I replaced it with a palm tree of sorts, which keeps falling over in the container. I must not have planted it deep enough, finish it up today also.
Been having MUCH fun on the computer. I am finding lots of things to do.....Everyone needs to atleast take a look at "Tastebook". Just google it see what you think.
Also just learning about "widgets". Neat and fun stuff.
I hope and pray this finds all you girls well and in good spirits this morning......

MANY PRAISES FOR LINDSAY!!!! GOD IS GOOD.

Not bragging, but....

Let's see....no humitidy....right smack between 75 & 80 degrees...definetly shorts & a tank top...but not with salad! =) I'm actually heading out the door to meet my friend (another CONNIE!) to go walking....she's been walking for over a year and really challenges me! Since I really don't enjoy walking...not even a Sunday stroll....she has her work cut out for her.
I have NO idea what I will do for dinner....yesterdays dinner can not be beat! The kids fixed up Rib Eye steak (bbq) and baked potatoes w/sour cream, and corn on the cob and oh my goodness...it was the best!! We NEVER eat steak!
Well, gotta go get ready for that walk! I did post/comment I think to one of Phyllis', it was a few days ago...not sure anyone saw it...it was rather late. = (

Blackberry Cobbler

I did fire up the oven! Warmed the house, and see what we have here. Oh Mama.

Rug

Here is the rug that I am working on, it's about 1/3 of the way done. Not an easy task since the yarn is difficult to work with. It likes to snag A L O T..............and Teresa it's hard to keep track of the stitch count with this......I had to tear it apart the other day and even it up (again )........The colors go nice in the livingroom.

Hot, Sunny, Muggy, humid, No rain in sight ):

I guess I'll have to give up and run the sprinklers..........$$$$ I dont want to spend...but the grass is crying, it's thirsty.

A cold rainy day

I've got a sweatshirt on and I'm still chilly. Nancy said it was 47 degrees. Soup's on ! Actually , not yet, but I know what I'm making for dinner. Probably potato soup. I may even fire up the oven and bake something.
